Summer Series Friday 19th and Saturday 20th June Kindly Sponsored by Gleeson Precast

Played over two days, unfortunately Friday was a very wet day, but Saturday was a glorious day of sunshine and perfect golfing conditions. 120 golfers played over the two days with 27 visitors included. Our leaderboard was dominated by visiting players, with the top three categories going to players from three different clubs in three different counties. Regular visitor Danny Meade was the top category winner, with frequent visitor Jean-Luc Bellevergue taking the second category. Cahir's Dermot O'Brien took the third division, while Tipperary's John T Ryan squeezed in a countback from Aodha O'Keeffe. Sean Long continues to show form with another gross win and Sam Ivory of Castletroy GC made another successful trip to secure the box of PROV1s visitor's prize. Another strong showing from Junior member, Mark Cunningham, who also distinguished himself in West Waterford last Friday in a provincial junior competition shooting a seven over round.

Sunday 21st June – Coman Cup Kindly sponsored by K T Flynn Solicitors.

Played in fantastic weather, and as a stroke event off the blue tees, this was a tough test for members a week before the Captain's Prize. Monard resident Sean Jackson came back into form at the right time to secure the best score of the day, but only just! Local man, Martin Murphy had the same fine score but lost out on a countback over the last three holes. Surely this form will carry through over the next few weeks and there will be interest in both of these players in the traditional Auction in the clubhouse on Friday 3rd July for the last 69 players left in the competition the following day. Gerry Malone had a fine score to take third place while local man Mikey O'Halloran took his second gross prize of the week in another tight finish.

1st Place : Sean Jackson (16) 66 B9

2nd Place : Martin Murphy (14) 66

3rd Place : Gerry Malone (24) 69 B3

Best Gross : Mikey O'Halloran 73
