Summer Series :Tuesday 23rd June, Round 18, Sponsored by Declan Webster Insurances.
On a fine summer day, we had 122 players including 18 visitors. Top score of the day was local man, Oisin Hogan with fellow local Sean Cumins picking up the gross prize. A trio of Limerick men Murroe's, James Ryan, Knocklong's Gerard Meade and Pat Dawson taking the rest of the honours. Ballykisteen member, Stephen O'Connell collected the visitors prize of a box of PROV1s. There is a total of 32 rounds in the Summer Series so we now have 18 played. It's proving very interesting to see the standings ( in the locker room on display in the glass cabinet) changing on a daily basis.

Captains Prize Qualifier
This weekend gone by, we have been staging the first qualifying round of the Captains Prize (Mr Daniel Connery). A total of 240 players competed for their place in the 18 hole second round qualifier (69 Qualifiers) next Saturday at 9.30 shotgun start. Scores are not at hand at time of printing, but it is known that even with the course set up in fair fashion, the scoring was very tight. Best of luck to everyone in the next round and a big thank you to all who participated this weekend.
Club Teams Senior Cup
Our Senior Cup team played away to Cahir Golf club on Saturday 27th June last. Managers John Traynor and Eddie Ryan C had a strong team out but unfortunately they met a better team on the night. Best of luck to Cahir in the knockouts in Kinsale GC. Team on the night: Donnacha Cleary, Mikey O'Halloran, Sean Cummins, Sean Long and Adam Long.

Jimmy Breun Cup
On Thursday last, our Jimmy Bruen team, hosted Mitchelstown Golf Club in the second round of the competition. Having already been successful against Thurles GC, this match took on extra significance as the winners of this match play in the last 16, hosted by Youghal Golf Club on July 26th. Manager Patrick Ryan G selected a strong team, and they had a decisive win. The team on the day was- Philip Ryan/ Fergal Lonergan, Niall O'Shea/Pat Flanagan, James Ryan/Conor Ryan and Jim McGlynn/ Tommy Crowe. Best of luck to all concerned in the upcoming East Munster finals
Barton Shield
Tipperary Golf Club host this year's East Munster Finals on Saturday 11th July and Sunday 12th July and we are glad to say that Tipperary Golf Club have qualified. Played in foursomes' format, much of the two-day timesheet is taken up. However, there is a summer series running over the two days with plenty of slots available. We would hope that our members will come out and support the Tipperary teams when the schedule is confirmed.

Seniors Golf – Thursday 25th June.
Another fine turnout of 51 players in very high temperatures. We shortened the course to 13 holes to make it easier on players to cope with the temperatures. Scoring was again very high with very little between the winners. Every Thursday Senior Golf takes place from 9.30, where everyone is welcome and an enjoyable few hours is guaranteed. The next Away Seniors Outing is Ennis Golf Club on Monday 13th of July, all are welcome.
