Division 1 Handicap secretary came in with 39 points to win the division, Joe O'Dwyer (8) has been playing really great golf and the results reflect it. James Doocey(10) won Division 2 with 41 points, both Joe and James playing on the Diageo panel for the club. Aodha O'Keeffe(19) is playing great golf, coming in with 40 points, a reflection that the new clubs are working. Paddy Mulcahy(24) blitzed the field with a stunning 44 points to win Division 4. Best gross on the day was Sean Long with 37 points and Liam Cleary of Thurles Golf Club won the visitors prize, to get a box of PROV1's from the Pro shop.

Thursday 20th August 2026 - Men's Seniors Results - in winner's slot was the mighty combination of Seamus Ryan, Tom O'Connor, Liam Hynes and Ted O'Sullivan winning with 104 on a countback. In close Second place was Tom O'Donovan, Michael Collins, Michael O'Grady and Seamus Carabine, also with 104.

Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August 2026 - Vice Captain's Prize, John Traynor - 18 Hole Singles Stroke - The course was set up beautifully as always by Eddie Ryan and the greens-keeping staff, and the weather didn't disappoint. In teams' news this week the AIG Women's Senior Foursomes team play on Wednesday 26th August in Belfast in the All-Ireland Semi Finals. Thank you kindly to everyone who has supported them.
The men's Jimmy Bruen team go to Thurles Golf Club on Saturday 29th August to play in the All-Ireland Semi Finals also, they will play Newtown Steward Golf Club, and we wish them all the best of luck in their endeavours this week. You have all made us immensely proud to get this far.

Friday 14th/Saturday 15th August 2026 - Men's President Michael Keaty's Competition - the 18-hole competition brought the cream to the crop, with 220 golfers participating on Friday and Saturday, everyone went out with hope in their hearts to win it. There were amazing prizes on offer and the popular President Michael Keaty was well supported by both club members and his family on such a wonderful occasion.
Winner overall was a well-deserved 43 points from Ballylanders man Martin O'Connor who was greeted with big cheers as he collected his prize from President Michael Keaty on the Saturday night in the clubhouse. In second place was Joe Kent, who had a great round of golf, and was celebrated with big cheers also as he came to collect his prize. The evening was well supported, with music and entertainment, and thanks to the O'Rawe Catering staff who ensured everyone was well fed and no one went thirsty! Lovely to see local artists supported in the prizes, with artwork of the Galtee Mountains and surrounds on the prizes table from both Catriona Kenny and Deirdre Dunne.
Martin & Lady President Josie are super supporters of the club, and are always at the club matches. Martin was well supported with his family and fellow Galbally Golf Society members in attendance on the night to celebrate his win.

Michael had extensive competition categories including Junior 9 & 18-hole competitions, with Darragh Kiely and David Wilkinson winning those titles respectively.
The Women's 9-hole winner was Kathleen O'Dwyer who played a wonderful 9 holes, steady and even, finishing with 20 points.
Longest Drive on the day was Donnacha Cleary, who decided on the 3 wood off the tee and kept it on the fairway, making 310 meters the longest drive on the day on the 18th hole. Nearest the pin was won by Galbally man Marcus Browne, landing his ball just 190cm from the pin.
Men's Senior winners were Peter Higgins with 37 points, playing off the yellows, and Con Hayes with 39 points off the Blues. Maurice Crotty won the Past President's Prize with 35 points, playing off 32.

Monday 10th August 2026 was the Junior Captain's Prize, Sean Kinane, proudly sponsored by Brian and Mary Devlin - James Gleeson was victorious with a whopping 42 points(28). Second place was battled out over the last 9 hoes, with Scott Perry coming in with 40 points (15), beating Gearoid Kinane who also had 40 points (12). 29 played in the 18-hole competition. Ava Leonard won the 9-hole competition with 26 points (24).

Thursday 13th August 2026 was Senior Men's scramble. Winning ways are never far off when you've a combination of Sean Jackson, John T.M. O'Dwyer, Willie Ryan (C) and Tom O'Connor. The top contenders came in just ahead of another score of 107, beating the second placed team on the back 9. In Second place was Michael P. Ryan, Padraig O'Cheallaigh, Michael Kinihan, and Tommy Moloney. Close behind was Gerry Kelly, Dick Walsh, Dave Fitzgerald and John Joe O'Donoghue with 106.

Sunday 9th August: Club Singles Stroke Play sponsored by O'Neill Flooring: While the Jimmy Bruen team tee'd off in Clonmel on a fine sunny Sunday, there were 87 golfers teeing up in Tipperary Golf Club taking on the golf course. Ger Glanagan won on the day with an impressive 65, playing off 14. In Second place was Joseph Hayes, playing off 11, with a 67, followed closely by Paddy Mulcahy in Third place, with a 68 (26).

The Jimmy Bruen team went to Clonmel to play against Clonakilty in the Munster East Regional finals. The team beat Clonakilty in the morning, after going to sudden death holes. On getting through the morning, they won the pennant, by beating East Cork Golf Club in the afternoon, and go forward now to play in Thurles in the next round. The panel were Philip Ryan and Fergal Lonergan, James Ryan and Conor Ryan, Niall O'Shea and Pat Flanagan, James O'Brien and Tommy Crowe. Their manager Patrick Ryan delighted to collect the pennant for the club.

They had Mary Walsh, Nuala O'Sullivan and Mary Martin hot on their heels, with a score of 30.87 to come in second place, with Kate Michelson, Marigold Spicer and Made Cleary in third place with 32.64.
Tuesday 28th July 2026 - Summer Series kindly sponsored by Pierse Motors Group - This 18 holes of wonderful saw huge scores on the golf course, with Niall O'Shea winning the Category 1, playing off 3, with 39 points, Category 2 was won by a massive 45 points, with Jamie Keaty playing off 12. Category 3 saw in form David Lowry score a massive 44 points, to win the Category 3, off 17. Galbally man Charlie McCarthy won the Category 4 with 39 points, playing off 24.

Wednesday 29th July 2026 - Women's Open Team of 3 kindly sponsored by Pierse Motors Group - Played over 18 holes, it was clear the top cream of golfers that are featuring on the panel for the All-Ireland Women's Senior Foursomes are in great form. Winners on the day were a team of Aoife Lowry, Vice Captain Orla O'Reilly, and Liz Higgins, with a stunning 84 points. A very close behind were Renagh Murphy, Mary Riordan and Ann Kinane Creamer with 83 points. Third place was the effervescent Pilomena Ellard, Paula Hickey and Kitty O'Reilly who came in with a very respectable 80 points.
There were three 2's on the day, Liz Higgins on the winning team had a birdie on the 13th, and Renagh Murphy and Orla O'Reilly both had a 2 on the 15th fairy hole.
Thursday 30th July 2026 - Munster Senior Men's Singles kindly sponsored by Pierse Dental and Orthodontic Centre Tipperary. 137 men turned out on Thursday for the Munster Senior Men's singles. There were more great golfers on the course on Thursday, with scores up around the 40's in winning territory. There were 10 2's recorded on the day and a lot of visitors travelled from all around Munster to participate.

Sunday also saw Tipperary GC Jimmy Bruen team head to Youghal, first beat Mahon, then went on to win against Williamstown in the afternoon, to get through to the Munster East Semi Final. Summer Series Results (10th, 11th & 12th July) - This competition was run over the course of the weekend, with members golfing in and around the Golf Ireland competitions. Sweltering heat and challenging course setup gave all the golfers enough of a challenge, but Aherlow resident (he's really a Galbally man), Quinn Perry won the Category 1 with 37 points (8). Christy Devine won the Category 2 with a super score of 41 points (11), Ger Griffin won the Category 3 with 37 points based on his back 9, playing off 17. Paddy Mulcahy won the Category 4, with best gross won by Killian Howard visitor with 33 points, from Dromoland Castle GC. Best visitor was Richard Woods playing off 9 with 38 points, also from Dromoland Castle GC. Best Junior of the course of the few days was our rising star Ben O'Connor with 40 points, playing off 8.

Summer Series Results (Tuesday 14th July) - Kindly sponsored by Matt Keating Sand & Gravel - 18 Hole Singles Stableford - Again the sun kept shining and the golf course was playing like links, but it certainly didn't deter the men on Tuesday with massive scores. Another TGC star Donnacha Cleary won the category 1 with 37 points (1), with Gerard Meade winning the category 2 with 42 points (11). Colm Murphy must have been smiling coming off the golf course with 43 points to win the Category 3, playing off 16. Category 4 was Aodha O'Keeffe who had a massive 44 points off 23. Best Gross was Mikey O'Halloran with 34 points, and Best Visitor was from Thurles Golf Club, Liam Cleary who wins the box of PROV1's for the day.

Munster Seniors open Singles Stableford Competition (Thursday 16th July) - Kindly sponsored by Sarah Merrigan Machinery A Massive turnout for the Munster Seniors Open competition - 142 golfers took to the course, in the sunshine, and they certainly maximised the conditions. Great golf played, with Winners of division 1 coming from Fermoy Golf Club, with Michael Walsh winning with 38 points, off 13, and PJ McInerney also of Fermoy GC coming second on a countback with 37 points off 14. Tipperary GC Jim McGlynn shot 37 points to come in third place for Division 1. Well done all.
Division 2 was won by our own Mike Maher who had 42 points off 22. Well done Mike. He was followed by John O'Donovan and Pat Hayes, who both had great scores too, but they weren't beating Mike on the day. Cahir Park GC dominated Division 3 with William Phelan having 44 points off 27, and John O'Mahony with 40 points, pipping Tom H O'Connor on the back 9, both of them coming in with 40 points.

TGC Junior Golf Monday 13th July 2026: for the 18-hole competition Lee Ronan won with 47 points off 30. He was closely followed by Charlie Considine with 39 points (26) who beat Gearoid Kinane on the back 9 who also had 39 points (14). Adam Gleeson won the 9 hole competition with 23 points (16)

Monday 27th July is the Open Senior ladies scramble at 10am but then in the afternoon there's a 2 club Competition. This is even more interesting, you only bring two clubs for all 18 holes, so you've to start contemplating which 2 are most important!!
Tuesday is the men's Open Singles Summer Series, so the ladies get a break!
Wednesday 29th is Ladies Open Team of 3 Waltz, so it'll be one to count, two to count then three to count, and start again! Brilliant format, be strategic on your golfers here and get your winning team on the timesheet!
Thursday 30th July is a Men's Munster Senior Open competition, sponsored by Pierse Dental & Orthodontic Center in Tipperary.
Friday 31st July is a family friendly Open 4 Ball competition. Any combination here - you don't need to be related but if there's family members that are golfers, bring them on, there's category prizes for families too.
